My Bio
David is the lead artist and head illustrator at Studio Colrouphobia, doing everything from conceptuals to full size high resolution illustrations.

His background stems in grafitti and comic book art and at a later time university studies in conceptual art and graphic design. David has a Masters in educational sciences with specialisation in Philosophy and Theology. These are influences that can be clearly seen in his later works.

Mainly working in digital format: David’s style can be described as hyperrealism meets Rubens/Caravaggio, with a touch of modern east-asian concepts and illustration.

Update regarding the flood from a couple of weeks ago. It is a long post, so bear with us. (grr, bears) (Our "Social Media Post" referred to can be found here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/54696032 at my Patreon.) Thank you all for you message of support and encouragement, and now the final damages have been assessed we can give a clear update as to bad this will hit us. Given the state of southern Belgium, we can hardly complain about our puny damages, but still. Background: we had floodings in the past here, the municipality invested heavily in an upgrade of the drainage and sewer system and we hardly had any issues at all since. The torrential rain that hit us a couple of weeks ago was the equivalent of 100 liters of water coming down per square meter (that is about 22 gallons per square yard for you non-metric peeps) in a timespan of less than 20 minutes. It was insane! Our terrace/patio had water rising as high as 30 cm, our roof could not drain the water though its proper

Happy New Year! This year let's make things better! In my last Journal I told you we updated our website: www.studiocolrouphobia.com This all had to do with the fact that the studio became a registered company on January 1st, 2021. Obviously we are very excited about this. I'm very excited about this. There are some technical things that now will be possible for me that where just blocked before (look under the Patreon part for more on that. Give-aways, mentorships and more!). And I hope that your year also looks all the better. I would love to know what your plans, hopes, and wishes, for this year are. Let me know in the comments! Here are the headlines in this journal, just scroll down to the headline that interests you. ·Store ·Patreon(mentorships!) ·Commercial Works ·Commissions STORE Our webstore sell prints, original art, and Gift Certificates for commissions. Hi fans, friends, good peeps! A couple of things to update you with. The studio has updated our website: www.studiocolrouphobia.com Store We made the move to a different host, updated our domain with them, got a dot.com email set up, and a webstore to sell prints, original art, and Gift Certificates for commissions through. Yes, if you have a friend you want to surprise with a commission from us, but you don't know what they want to have commissioned, you can now buy Gift Certificates for commissions from us. They will cover a value, not a full illustration (unless you buy one at the value of a full commission, obviously). For the holidays, the Gift Certificates have been discounted 15% as well! Right now there is one piece of Original Art in the store, and in the future there will be more, as well as posters, and possibly apparel. You can find the store here: store Commissions Speaking of Commissions, here are some base prices: Simple character bust (waist

Hey there! :la:

Nice art :wow:  If you're ever looking to share your work with other people, live, you should check out #ThumbHub on dAmn (Did you know we had a chat system!? A lot of people don't :( ) We get a lot of great artists popping in to share their work and it varies from Traditional art, to photography, to poetry :) Also a great place to gain more exposure for your art AND to make some new friends xx

Hope to see you there some time

Hi, thanks!

I'm like... in no way able to add things continuously without any info- what exactly is dAmn? is it like a discord thing? a chat-with-rooms thing?

I'm not able to do live chatting really since I work full time with art and chatting just makes me not work :)

I have a twitch channel though, where I stream on weekdays.
