I am here at the request of 13alrog to give a critique. So this isn't an unsolicited critiquing attack or anything. I like the floor, the dramatic lighting, and the flaming balls. I can tell you know how to render and use whichever digital painting tool you are using. Which makes for an awesome time to be giving critiques because I can talk about what to do rather than the how to do it. So#1 I will bring up is edges. The feet and tail are really looking pasted and are not meant to be a focal point so I would make those edges roll over to dark at the edges so they fall back some and knock back the highlights on them. Where the tail touches the top of that flame is realllllly getting a lot of attention so I would shrink that tail down or bring the flame up in size so that it goes in front of the tail. #2 is the light fall off. Right now the lit areas seem very evenly lit and areas rendered the same. So each form goes from a 2 to 10 in value. It hurts the overall sense of light and form. So for instance maybe the feet should go from 6-10 in value and the hand near the flame should mostly be 1-5 in value. All those really really dark areas in the palms of the hands are breaking up that form too much. If you look at the bottom lip it is super dark underneath when it doesn't need to go that dark. The teeth are all evenly lit too which is flattening them. Somehow it looks like the tops of the molars are getting light which doesn't seem possible. To get a quiick idea of how some light falloff on the form might help I would select a circular gradient and drop it on top of each light source. I think you'll find it should maybe be darker between his eyes and lighter most other places. #3 is really tied into #2 but I'd like to see the creature hold together as a single thing. Right now the deep black interspersed all over the figure is really punching holes in it.
