Bedroom with a View

The scene was inspired by a photo of a similar bedroom, just the exterior was different. I always find semi-interior scenes a good challenge - to find the right sub-ray options, trace levels, internal reflection levels etc... to render multiple layers of glasses, an exterior behind the glass (in the same scene, not composited), using daylight portals etc... this particular scene also required some trials and errors to find the best and most optimal AA strategy. Since the exterior is behind a glass wall, I found it more natural to go with Soft strategy (an overly detailed crisp look would look disturbing, at least for my eyes), but this time I didn't get away with relatively low subrays settings... also had to boost the shadow quality to +4 (and I'm still not entirely satisfied). Took a couple of test renders, but here is the final result.

Since I didn't want to steal the attention from the landscape, I left the interior fairly simple. Most parts were modeled and textured by me, the rest (bed, table, chairs) were downloaded from tf3dm.com
