The Battered Wife

In the fantastic realm there are hundreds of dangerous creatures, among them we find the giant spiders. Arachnids that get as big as a tree. Most of them dangerous and aggressive, but at the same time most of them are not a direct threat to humans. But there's one of them that makes the "big" exception.
The Battered Wife, as originally named. Or "Howleesh", as called by the common folk. Why? because this creature will destroy your throat before you can say "Holy shit that's a big ass motherfucking spider".
The Battered Wife is a spider that chose populated cities as its natural habitat. Thousands of years of refined evolution have created the perfect disguise on which this arachnid can prey on its preferred target. Humans. The Battered Wife as the exact resemblance of a young woman in a long dress with a hood. But that's not why it's the most dangerous creature of the alley. It's because she not only looks like a hurt lady in distress, but can actually act like one. This spider doesn't talk, but moans exactly as someone that just got stabbed in the stomach. It also recreates the same posture and it shivers as someone scared to death. The Battered Wife is a basic creature with the wits of any other animal. But that little brain has the enough intelligence to use hair and blood from its last victim to get the realism it wants.

The Battered Wife nests in the sewers or abandoned houses, it can live to 30 years and spawn every 6 years hundreds of eggs. This means that one single female can spawn over 3 thousand spiders in its life time. The Battered Wife feeds only on humans and as it grows it eats absolutely nothing until it reaches full maturity and can be able to hunt. In between that, almost all of the little spiders die from other predators or starve before they get to kill anything. So that's why this hardly gets as a plague and will never become a threat to our specie. The only big problem is (as this b*tch isn't already one) that its growth is extremely fast. In a few months it can get to full size. And since it hasn't eaten anything and it's hungry, it will make the best performance ever in order to eat a full grown man.

The rumor tells that there's a crazy scientist around that experiments on animals, and one of them was a Battered Wife he altered into a different breed. They call it The Battered Mother in Law. Why? Because the motherf*cker has wings... and flies. But luckly for us, that's only a story of fiction.

Creepy stare  yeh.

Yeah I this is fiction but there’s no way this could be the result of natural evolution.

Well, Well, This is one nice drawing we have here.

People have always been afraid of spiders, and this one nice way to make that fear even bigger, The concept of a species of spider evolving to have a diet on humans is, altough unlikely, Really creepy, and amusing at the same time.

You were really smart when developing its feeding method, Preying on the Selfless, Curious and naive humans that dare to come close to it, I like how it seemingly kills whithout the use of Poison, and the fact that it probably dismembers prey to convincingly lure food.

Its brilliant indeed, The way you drew this gives nice detail to it, and the Arachnid traits look really unique, and the way its body colours create its luring aspect.

In general, Its a great drawing, I really liked it, Good Job.

A fantastic piece. All together very eye catching. The small display of events from the creatures predatory habits adds to the dynamic of the image.

The idea itself is unique and original. The prospect of such creatures sends chills down a viewers spine, the description adds to this. The coloration is interesting, but overall very effective, and having the cobblestone underneath your subject painted so well adds depth to the picture.

As before, a incredibly unique piece, dark and with perhaps the smallest hint of humour shrouded under the veil of darkness and gore. Its incredible to see the amount of work you have put into developing a story for this creature, and it definitly shows.

The way legs act to imitate a human form looks very real to me, and overall I feel that spiderishness is conveyed quite naturalistically. Perhaps the blue patterns on its head look designed by hand, rather than something brought by evolution.

The story creeped me out, I was uncomfortable with my legs under the table when halfway through the description, so nice job there. I'm not entirely sure whether the facts of spider's growing cycle and breeding habits are biologically authentic. Also, I imagine the mouth hair to be part of spider's body, not a leftover of a previous victim.

I felt that referring to the spider as bitch in the description was in poor taste, especially in the context of something that poses hurt, then kills you.

A very vivid description, and the artwork clearly and perfectly explains your intent. I got immediately that it was meant to look like a woman, and only saw that it was a spider upon closer look.
The detailing is what really sells this one, I feel.
It really looks as though this were a real spider that really grew a coloration and perfect disguise. I would say that the blue around the face is too well detailed, for something that was supposed to have evolved on this devious creature, but otherwise is perfect.
The idea that it would use it's past victim's blood and hair is also pure genius.

Not to mention, the comic at the top is a very nice touch.

How does it grow if it doesn't eat anything… It's kind of hard to increase your math without taking anything in unless it's like a tree or it's just really fat and ships all the fat into its own mass getting skinnier but bigger

Give her a mind numbing effect like an aerosol poison with mind altering effects or her sounds create an effect on people to make them susceptible to not noticing her disguise and wanting to help her even though the person is a scumbag who would even sell his mother for a nice meal. It can also have different effects like people avoiding her nest because they become nauseous if she is fed and rests there. Otherwise every Town would burn a whole block down just to make sure to get her.
