Overview

The Marduc series was the very first mecha created by Lohengrin Engineering and as such, it lacks the features more common the ‘second generation’ models, such as a more streamlined frame, or the advanced Black Sphere Drive. The Marduc series is slower, bulkier, and generally less efficient than even the more commonplace Cerberus series. None the less, the Marduc still finds a common ground in the Expeditionary Forces Lohengrin division because of its relatively low operational and production costs.
The Marduc lacks a complicated cockpit system, and leaves the pilot fairly unprotected with a simple bullet-proof cockpit. It is not particularly effective against larger anti-mecha weaponry, but more than a match for traditional ground-based assault weapons, and fairly resistant against smaller scale explosives. The Marduc also possesses a short wave radio transmitting in the 27MHz range, allowing communication up to 17 miles. However, this is an insecure radio frequency, and communication with it is highly discouraged under most circumstances.
Because of the relatively low-tech design of the Marduc, it is generally not used on the front line of combat because of its lower survival rating in extended combat situations. Instead, the Marduc class of lohengrin has found a common setting in military bases and low-security areas. The Expeditionary Forces can then direct their funds into investing into the higher end mecha models for front-line combat, where the extra advantage in battle could mean the difference between a victory and a loss in a battle. The sheer number of Marduc class mecha produces by the Lohengrin Engineering for the Expeditionary Forces has led to a large number of them to be stolen by various underworld organizations and sold to a variety of different groups. The low threat potential of the Marduc in most conventional combat situations has caused the Expeditionary Forces to overlook this matter.

Description
The 150mm Dual Assault Cannons are designed primarily as an emergency anti-vehicular weapon capable of doing a moderate amount of damage against heavily armored targets, while at the same time still capable of faring semi-efficiently against ‘soft’ targets and structures. The Dual Assault cannons fire 150mm Full Metal Jacket Boat Tail Armor Piercing (FMJBT, AP) rounds made from a copper jacket around a tungsten carbide core, assuring a deep armor penetration and excellent accuracy.
