Description
Kronosaurus queenslandicus, the huge Australian marine predator. This is one of the few accurate resorations of this animal in the world, as nearly all are based on the Harvard mount, which has been heavily and inaccurately restored in plaster.
I recently had the opportunity to see some Kronosaurus material in the Queensland Museum collections, and I don't think my painting does it justice...

i love the color scheme of the whole painting, warm and monochromatic, it's very simple and i like that.
the patterns on the kronosaurus are amazing as well, like a cross between aboriginal patterns (the fact that it is an AUSTRALIAN pliosaur seems all too perfect) and tatoo art; looks excellent.
i have painted in oils before and i can't help but gape at how smooth the blends and texture are! Beautiful use of your medium...
