Dying world,
the dark half
split in two by the fires of Bel.
Purified like molten silver,
our souls gather under the moon.

The Pleiades rise
upon the morning horizon.
Seven sisters who greet
the light half of the year.

Life has begun with every tiny sprig of green.
A halo of flowers upon the angel of summer.

Dancing around the phallic pole,
we bring new life into the world.
The Faeries ride upon the dawn,
and magic sparkles in the dew.

Celebrate life while you are young
Among the trees in a forest glade.
The Pleiades twinkle in solemn watch.
The uniting of
two worlds.

This was actually written for my roleplaying character druidess to read at a celebration of the Spring Equinox, where the characters were jumping naked through the fires of Bel in a purification ceremony. I then used it for my own druidic celebration, though no nude fire jumping was included in my own ceremony. :D

Very nice. I read a lot of celtic regency fiction, so I kind of know the celebration...though not first-hand. I can see the scene, though, and this poem is full of motion, imagery, and music. Beautiful.
