Beren at Felagund's Throne

This is the second incarnation of this Silmarillion illustration.. sepia tone with a brown paper background done in Photoshop (Thank you for the idea and help, Ana! ). For the description I'll quote myself below:

This is a scene from the Silmarillion, from the tale of Beren and Lúthien, where Beren arrives in Nargothrond to ask for the aid of king Finrod Felagund in his quest for the Silmaril. He presents the Ring of Barahir, given to his father by Felagund as a token of the debt he owed Barahir for saving his life. The other elves in the picture are supposed to be Finduilas, Gwindor and the treacherous sons of Fëanor, Curufin and Celegorm.

Well, what can i say.. it's just a pencil drawing. As a drawing i think it's ok except i'm not happy with how Finrod looks.. His pose looks like he is slumped in his chair and despite my efforts to fix his expression he still looks more like a drooling vedgetable than a great elven king. And when i was halfway done with the piece and getting pretty frustrated with the evil knotwork patterns that always get me confused, the nitpicky Tolkien fan in me stirred and started pointing out that elven kings used to stand up to greet their guests, and that Finrod didn't need to see the ring to recognize Beren as the son of Barahir despite his ragged looks, and that he should probably be wearing the Nauglamír too, AND that they talked first of the quest behind closed doors.. and so on.. Anyway, i wasn't so motivated to finish the pic any more so the rest of the decoration and shading in particular is quite sloppy.. but i just wanted to finish it quickly a be done with it!
