Along Came A Spider

Description

The spider was a little worried. He'd never been entirely clear on what a tuffet looked like, but there was something really weird going on with Miss Muffet, and not a curd or whey in sight.

Errrr....yeah. This was a technical experiment. I wanted to do something colored in layers of scribbly color--fluid acrylic and colored pencil, mostly, but scribbly on both counts. And I was actually kinda pleased with the result--the original, at least, has an odd warmth and sense of depth to it, which only partially comes through in the digital version. So that's a technique I'll probably definitely visit again (the gradient, for example, is infinitely easier with overlapped scribbles.) Didn't take too long, maybe two and a half hours total. As for the critter--bugger if I know. I was doodling for something to try this on, and it was what showed up. Some relative of the voodoo doll, I think. Maybe. I find myself feeling a certain sympathy for the spider, I admit.

Anyway. 8 x 10 on illustration board, original SOLD, prints available for $10, send a note if interested.
