Bird Talk

The first thing the scantily clad druids of the Greenstain learn is how to speak the language of the birds.

The second thing they learn is that birds are lousy conversationalists.

Been fooling around with more "stuff I haven't done for awhile" and both chicks in absurd fantasy costumes and Art Nouveau falls into this category, so I produced this quick little piece. I like her expression, and I really like the bird's--you just know he's waxing with great enthusiasm about worm ends or something--but the coloring stopped working for me for some reason, and various poking and prodding at it did not produce anything I liked. I dunno. I may come back to this one if I ever figure out quite how I want to do it, but for now, I like the sketch enough to share as a scrap, but I can't get the coloring to click in my brain. Curses, foiled again!

On t'other hand, man, I forgot the silly fun that painting stupid fantasy costumes is..."HEY! Big gloves with jewels! Yeah!" Presumably the third thing the druids learn is how to keep the mosquitos at bay...
