The Field Guide to Writing Fetish Fiction - Part 1
Contains: Not a story! This is a writing guide with tips, tricks, and strategies on how to write fetish fiction for those who might be interested. This is part one of four. ~~~ PART ONE: Getting Started Writing fetish fiction here on DeviantArt is a hobby that has brought me a lot of enjoyment, but it is also an experience that came with its fair share of mistakes on my part, lessons gradually learned, and strategies developed. I decided to write the following guide to help newcomers who might like to try their hand at this genre. Please note that I am still learning and (hopefully) getting a little better over time myself, so this is not a master’s take on the craft or anything of that sort, but just some lessons this writer learned through the school of hard knocks… and I thought perhaps I could save someone else a knock or two! Contains: Not a story! This is a writing guide with tips, tricks, and strategies on how to write fetish fiction for those who might be interested. This is part four of four. Chapter endings have an all-important job, one thing they really must accomplish: they should make your reader want to continue on to read your next chapter. That isn’t their only job – they can also close out a scene, organize your narrative, and create a sort of mental resting place between events – but if the reader gets bored enough or “meh” enough about your pacing that they don’t feel like continuing, they might not ever finish your story. That's fatal! A good chapter ending builds narrative momentum

This is part two of four. ~~~ PART TWO: Mastering the Mechanics If the phrase “a job worth doing is worth doing well” applies to anything in life, it ought to apply first and foremost to creating art. And fetish fics, smut stories… those are still art! Some writers and some stories aspire to that designation more than others, but if you have self-respect as a creator, you should always want to “wow” your reader to the very best of your ability. That means practicing and growing as a writer of fiction in general. This chapter is not a holistic “guide to everything” in the art of writing – neither of us have time for that. Instead, I’m going to hit a few high points or common problem areas I have seen many people struggle with and offer some tips for areas that took me a while to learn myself.
