R-R 3 Living Wars Chapter 22Chapter 22
It was surprising to actually see the sun out. To actually hear birds and see life scurrying through the trees. Overhead not a cloud could be seen, the sky a perfect shade of blue. The distant rolling thunderstorm was another matter, but with the wind as calm as it was it would take a while for them to reach us. Indeed the weather was enjoyable for anyone with the mindset to actually enjoy it. It was summer hot. Hot enough for Garay to wear only a light shirt and pant with his thicker weather clothing shoved into the pack. Hot enough for Tatuse to unstring his bow and store it in the quiver. The plan was to revise and move our group back up to Gargren. Only the kings knew of the change. And Quoll was not happy about it. But again, the order was set. Well, nearly everything. Ray and I would have to sneak out during the night when Quoll and Ellrick weren’t watching us. Tatuse took it upon himself, when he wasn’t in need of watching me, to inconspicuously keep his watch on Shida. The second of Tairen’s advisors didn’t act any odder then I knew him to. He kept himself as close to Sora as possible while sternly keeping himself in Say’s business. But Say and Sora were more than openly shocked to see the man. I had my own advisor troubles to worry over as I wandered through camp waiting for nightfall. Deiman was practically stalking me through camp, inquiring about my supposed signature on their treaty document. I had pointed him to Aalexander once already, and Aalexander bounced him right b
