Falls Are the Climbers Trophy
The future completes me When now defeats me For I am nothing if not defeated Should come the day I am completed And complacent is the difference To oceans far from inference With fishes much like me All trivializing the sea Should these common ills be reassuring? When all they stand for is ensuring? That life itself is un-alluring? To creatures always stirring? What would we be with goals achieved? But with nothing to aspire to? What outcomes would be my relief? With nothing left to do? We sit and watch the numbers climb We count our days to the end of time
