Charlotte felt as if she had just been swimming, her body covered head to toe with cold sweat. Her blood was near boiling, and her whole body racked with violent shivers, her stomach empty and hollow, heavy within her. As she fought to open her eyes, she could no longer tell if she was dreaming or awake. The forest sprawled before her, lit by the pale moonlight.
