In 2014, DeviantArt turned 14 years old. Fourteen years is a long time, some of you reading this may be younger than that. I've gathered some historical information with the help of Moonbeam13 and some members of the Community Relations team to help enlighten those of you who have joined in recent years and missed out on a chunk of DeviantArt's life.
I hope you enjoy taking a step back in time!
Please note: it is extremely difficult to track down some events in DeviantArt's history (in particular, the first few years) and that some dates are only approximate.

For thinking this will end well…
I guess it kinda is insanity,
Good thing we’re crazy as Hell.
Falling down the rabbit-hole,
Into the depths of my cold soul.
For once, I no longer just see the Blue,
As now, I’m falling for and with you.
As we fall in each other’s company
To our own little land of wonder,
They all must think us crazy,
But hey, all the best people are.
We’re closer than Tweedledee and Tweedledum
And like a blue caterpillar I’m so high and numb.
Not even a Jabberwocky
Could stop you and me,
So let’s live, each mad as a hatter,
Happily and madly ever after…
Finally, one of the trail maids said what they were all thinking: "I'm bored!" cried Sarah, and sat quickly on a nearby rock. her pink hoop-skirt flipped up as quickly as she sat down, showering her face with ruffles. She quickly pulled it down, embarrassed.
"It's not like there's anyone here to see," said Hannah, her purple dress crowded around her as she sat on the grass. "We should probably call for a ride home."
Just then, all four girls
"Tillie, what are you doing?"
"I'm asking the rain to go away. I wanna go outside."
I smiled. "I don't know if that's going to work, little sis."
"But it hasta work, Alice! I wanna go to the playground," she pouted, turning around on the window seat to look at me.
Laughing, I sat down next to her and shook bleached white hair out of my eyes. "If Mom doesn't catch us, and you put your rain coat and boots on, then we can go anyway."
"Really?" she asked in astonishment, her blue eyes widening.
When I nodded she grinned, showing the gap in her where her front tooth was supposed to be, and clapped her hands.
