Pacific Marina Muskrat (Pacific Marina)
Pacific Marina Muskrat (Ondatra insularis) Order: Rodentia Family: Cricetidae Habitat: Tropical, subtropical, and temperate rainforests, wetlands, forests, and open woodlands across Pacific Marina. The Pacific Marina muskrat (Ondatra insularis) is a species of muskrat of the genus Ondatra native to Pacific Marina. The closest living relative of the Pacific Marina muskrat is the North American muskrat, and may have evolved from the same common ancestor that once lived in mainland North America had spread to Pacific Marina, when the island was once connected to the mainland during the Pleistocene. Pacific Marina muskrats weigh 0.6–2 kilograms (1.3–4.4 lbs), with a body length of 20–35 centimeters (8–10 inches). The Pacific Marina muskrats are much smaller than a beaver, with which they often share habitat. They are covered with short, thick fur of medium to dark brown color. Their long tails, covered with scales rather than hair, are their main means of propulsion. Pacific Marina
