Jared studied the mirror, feeling for stubble with his palm for a moment before grabbing the razor; Kat could wait five minutes. He squirted the cream on it in a neat swirl, running the razor under hot water in preparation and lifted the cream laden hand to his face. He paused, staring at the smooth skin in the reflection for a moment, letting his hand fall. Wide brown eyes stared back at him, outlined by faint eyebrows and soft cheek bones, and framed by shaggy hair that moved down past the shoulder. He ran his eyes across it, uncertainly, all the way to his chest; there was something important about his chest. He stared at it for a moment, mind refusing to put it to words until he squeezed his eyes shut in frustration, then snapped them open again.
