Clarke Often when discussing science fiction versus science fantasy in most fan circles, it's highly likely that the subject of the Q will be brought up in regards to the use of magic in Star Trek. So I want to explore the topic and share some of my thoughts on the subject. While on the surface the Q civilization does appear magical, there is sufficient evidence to suggest that, while being a highly evolved non-corporeal species, the Q Continuum is still grounded more in science than so-called magic. It is my assertion that the Q's powers are nothing more than cheap theatrics utilized by the Continuum to create the illusion of being "godlike" entities, but when these abilities are scrutinized it becomes clear that the Q are not gods and nothing they've been shown doing can't be done by technology developed or encountered by the Federation. Travel The Q describe themselves as being omnipotent
