Deleted Scenes from Dragons to the Test
Deleted Scenes from Dragons to the Test
I’ve decided to post these scenes here mostly because this first scene contains a bit of information that is built upon in the story I am currently writing. All three of them contain some good character moments and makes clear (or suggests) a few things that were not carried over from the International Fleet Realm.

This first scene would be after Captain Picard and the Dragon Army return to the Enterprise from the new Formic Homeworld. With this scene in place, the call interrupting Ender’s conversation with Commander Troi would be changed to “Commander Wiggin. Please report to

Chapter 10
The Valanglen who led Dr. Murchison and Nurse Naydrad to the axillary control room proceeded to the other DAAG couch then introduced itself as Venarec while it established contact with Valentine. Saulgden left its couch then moved to face the new arrivals. It formed a link with Dr. Murchison first. While this was happening, Dr. Prilicla said “I detect movement in the Deldain DBDGs.”
Valentine reported “Venarec tells me that the crew has been instructed to return to their quarters or where ever they can get into their Discourse Gear.” She gestured to the head gear. “Saulgden, who̵

“Yes. They have entered my office now,” said Colonel Skempton “and you can be sure that they will know the consequences of that, as Dr. Kerbin of Starfleet put it, three ring circus they staged yesterday. Skempton off.” The Colonel toggled a switch on the communications console built into his desk (but not before those standing before the desk heard “O’Mara off.”) then he began adding notes to the already well used pad in front of him.
Valentine felt even more down than she had felt since the end of the previous day’s surgery. If Dean Kerbin made that comment, it

Grimmel spent a few days keeping to himself and learning what he could about this new world in which he found himself. He also used the time to settle into the identity he created for himself around Andrew’s communicator pin. The science behind how this information system worked was beyond his comprehension even though his intellect was high for both his native time period and for the time he was now in. Bean, the Dragon Army, and Starfleet worked, without Grimmel’s knowledge, to prevent him from learning too much about computer security systems and policies. Still. Grimmel had a hunch that he’d ha

Chapter 3
“You wanted to see me?” Ender said as he entered Conference Room Six.
“Yes Ender.” replied Useless “Something has happened and we think we now know who is out there.”
“Who?”
“The Empire.”
“What would they have to do with this?”
“No idea, but the Lantree has reported that several ships, including three of the arrowhead shaped heavy warships, punched through the fog then held their position briefly before retreating back into the fog.”
“That’s all they did?”
“They sent a message while they
Distress Call
Chapter 14
“Believe me,” began Captain Fletcher when Rhabwar’s full crew got a chance to relax and talk on the Casualty Deck “those of us in Monitor Corps green are just as disappointed as are you in your medical whites. The Discourse gear could have been at least as big an advance in space communications as what we’ve seen with the introduction of the Starfleet Subspace Communications Network.”
“But the risk is too great at this time.” said Dr. Conway. “I still can’t believe I didn’t even consider the possibility of a threat from that equipment.”

President Bala stepped onto the balcony adjoining her office. She walked to the rail and looked out over the city. Keeping her head facing outward, she used her peripheral vision to note that some Gargouilles were perched nearby. When she saw the dragon shape eclipsing the lights of the city, she called out - in French “Welcome Pantheon. I am ready for our conversation. I’d like the Gargouilles perched nearby to know that you are free to relax and join our conversation, should you wish to do so.”
Pantheon called out his greeting as he approached the balcony. President Bala stepped

Chapter 4
“Don’t worry about them.” replied Colonel Graff on being told that his small fleet of shuttles was about to be passed by a group of Vikings riding on dragons heading away from the Archipelago, “I’ve been informed already that these Vikings send out teams on dragons regularly. I’m looking at them on my monitor back here and I can see that they pose no real threat. Look at that one. Done up to look like a skeleton, but is wearing a dress. What a creative approach to instilling fear in an enemy. Going after them will only waste time. Let them pass, but track them to be

The lull while they waited for the Leif Ericson to arrive with the Horta who had quickly agreed to help with this crisis gave the teams from both realms a chance to have a meal. While they ate, they chose to critique this first phase of the operation. Dr. O’Mara had come to the surface and was taking part in the critique. Nurse Naydrad, who with Valentine was taking part in the conversation over the radio while seeing to the needs and comfort of the patients in the Post-Op Ward, suggested that they take up the offer of Enterprise and the Ender Wiggin sending down some portable structures to serve as addition

The alien ship looked nothing like the large delta winged shape of the Rhabwar, and it looked even less like the finned cigar shape of the Tragenhad or the Trafalur. To Valentine, as she studied the image on the Casualty Deck’s repeater Screen, the lines of this ship would look more at home flying next to the Enterprise or the Ender Wiggin.
She did a quick search of known warp nacelle configurations and saw that it had much in common with the first generation warp drive designs of several races in the Federation. “Captain Fletcher.” she called out “could you send that image to my LCARS t

Chapter 7
Despite the best efforts of the Chinese government, word of the advancing Wilderwest Army spread throughout China. At first, people in northern China began calling their relatives elsewhere to tell them of the sky filled with dragons. When the Government started interfering with the phone system, people began traveling by car, horseback, or even walking to other towns to spread the word. Those who had been contacted by phone also spread the word. A massive dragon army flying toward a confrontation with the government in Beijing was not something that could be covered up. Eventually, the dragons and Vikings sa

Stoick turned his attention from the open sea to Snotlout and Peter Wiggin. He said “By my reckoning, we are where King Hiccup says is the most likely position they’d try to cross. But, I’m worried. They could still change course and go between Swallow; Waterlands; Mystery; Hysteria; and Villainy then through the Sullen Sea.”
“What Useless calls ‘the Parade Route,.’” replied Peter “but the wind is in our favor. We could swing around Tomorrow then by Lava Lout and intercept them before they reach the Reef if they did that. However. I do not believe they

Grimmel stood in the shadows at the back of the crowd filling the Great Hall on Tall Berk to watch the Starfleet press conference. From where he stood, he did not have the best view of the screen and some of the words were lost in the reactions of the crowd. He wondered if it was that fool Ryker who had set those traps in England. He silently cursed that fool. The only thing of importance in that King Hiccup’s babbling was confirmation that Eret, Son of Eret had turned sides. The most useful information for Grimmel came from Admiral Terrag. Now, he’d have to stay in the shadows for a while watching and l

One Eye awoke with a start. He snorted the most threatening snort he could manage given the bindings, and the medical equipment around him.
“Ahh, you are awake, One Eye.” Wodensfang said in Dragonese as he flew into One Eye’s field of vision. “I asked them to let me be the first to talk with you when you woke up because I knew you’d be frightened and angry.”
“I certainly am. Where am I?”
“You are at Starfleet Medical in San Francisco. They brought you and Snotlout here in a shuttle.”
“In a shuttle you say? Good. That’s better than be
