Shin Getter vs Neo Getter Review
Ah Ken Ishikawa. You were one of the biggest mangaka legends Japan ever had. For those of you wondering who Ken Ishikawa is, and I'll be greatly happy if you do know, born on June 28, 1948, he was Go Nagai's best friend in which his works actually had less emphasis on violence and fanservice where Go Nagai exceeded in both. Together, the two were responsible for the very first combining mecha, Getter Robo, along with four other sequels/versions of the same robot. Ishikawa was also responsible for the likes of Cybot Robotchi (or Robby the Rascal if you remember the horrible compliation version we got here), designing the characters of the Dragon Slayer series, and unknown works such as Skull Killer Jakio.
You don't suppose that Evangelion got references from that, do you? Apparently they had the same premise.
