Skies dawning and embracing the newly lit sun
Birds sing the soft song of beginning
Dew droplets glimmer in the rising light
Amber fox eyes blink to the morning song
Tail brushing the earth, paws stretched forward
His jaws part with a deep yawn, then he trots onward
A lonely finch, voice chittery and young
He hears this youngling, and stalks closer
The shadows cover his presence - the finch knows not that he is there
Pawstep by pawstep, he edges closer to the youngling
His eyes focused entirely on the bird,
as if they were the only two in the world
A pounce awaits, and given time the fox waits,
