Here is a special theory from u/Pyrolific Knowing that the original Donkey Kong is now Cranky Kong and Donkey Kong Jr is now the current Donkey Kong. It makes sense that Pauline is Mario and Luigi's mother and Jumpman is their father! Jumpman and Pauline also had a daughter and they named her after her mother... Pauline, Pauline II is the Pauline from the Mario vs Donkey Kong series, you can see that her hair color is a mix of her mother and father (assuming blue = black) same goes for Mario and Luigi's hair color. Mario and Luigi don't know that Pauline is their sister because they got lost from their parents when they were babies before Pauline was born.. luckily they were discovered by Yoshi (Yoshi's Island). The baby Donkey Kong from Yoshi's island is Donkey Kong Jr (current DK) which further proves they are similar in age. Mario (Mario Jr) was a plumber and his father Jumpman(Mario JR) was a carpenter.
