In the Thick of it - Chapter 10
The Normandy's mess hall was bustling with crew members that had just dragged themselves out of bed, desperate for that first cup of coffee to help them start their shift.
Dr. Chakwas was sitting at one of the tables, holding a lively debate with Engineer Adams.

The crash wasn't far from the site of the transmission; approximately one fourth of a mile. The small but unique Mars colony could be seen ahead. The closer they got, the more the heat intensified. The four of them began to approach the colony more quickly than they had expected to.
This particular colony's most unique feature was that the prefab units were encased in a massive, glass-like dome. This dome, along with several airlocks and decontamination chambers throughout the colony allowed the colonists to breath oxygen within the structure.
Madelyn had read the brochure about colony life on Mars. “Rotfels Colony: a place you and yo
