what stark,
smouldering crimson
flesh, as round and thick
as a supple plum
on the branches above
the apple that Eve sought-
Blessed salubrious tongue-
hath ye,
thou art as the ophidian
sylph Erys,
Whose eyes swim
across the Styx-
Charon's Sea.
How gorgeous,
thy own mouth-
as stark
and smouldering crimson
as the poppies
which Demeter hath drawn.
Such a tender plum
perched aside thy cheek,
below thy noses' steep'l
above thy cherub chin.
