Paul gave the chains holding him a yank, gritting his teeth in frustration when they refused to magically give way or budge in face of his assault. His wrists, already having to endure the abuse of his struggling for the past few hours, flared hotly in response before subsiding into a dull, ever-present ache. Of course his bonds did not break, they never would, but his anger and frustration and denial always forced him to keep trying just in case. It had all come down to this, then? This cell, this prison in this stadium, everything he and Curtis and the others had worked for just to end here for him?
