Originally collected and told in written form by Joel Harris. Translated and retold by yours truly. Note: The books that I got these African-American folktales from are all in the public domain. They were first told centuries ago, so there is going to be some values dissonance. I do not necessarily agree with the beliefs that are exhibited by the characters in these stories or the original storyteller(s). Also, before any of you accuse me of cultural appropriation, not only am I black myself, but even if I weren't, there is nothing wrong with someone telling stories that come from another culture in and of itself. Back with Fiona, as night time was arriving, the vixen scoffed before trying to rub two sticks together unsuccessfully. The girl growled, then angrily slapped the sticks down. Just then, a huge flame burst made her tumble away before it died back down a bit. Fiona sighed, trying to warm herself up.
Fiona: Okay, I know Scourgie is a jerk...but he's trying, right? I mean, come on. Not like he would dump me for no reason...
Fiona growls, looking disgusted.
Fiona: And if he does, who would I turn to? Not Tails. He hated me since I hurt his feelings. And Don Weazo? Ugh! I would rather kissed a Wookie!
