On the linguistic highway we communicate
Language is anything but language. Language is a metaphor. Language is a bridge. Not a bridge between sender and receiver, but a bridge between now and the future. A bridge on which a highway was built a long time ago, before we had cars. The speed of communication and the styles of communication have changed over the years, but always we have gone in the same direction all through the years. The journey never ends, there are only accidents. Because everyone wants to move faster on this road that got broader every century. More lanes were added for all forms of communication.
