rubber soles hit concrete slabs and the wind acts as a contour mask. i feel it sweep against my skin and carom off of my pores. it’s the phenomenon of air draping around me in an ethereal cloak. the draft nipped at my elbows as my hands rest in my pockets. walking along the maze of bodies in a bustling city, i hear a familiar voice.
i snap my head around to see nothing but a lonely coffee shop and i realize i’m nowhere near where i’m supposed to be. it was as if my feet had carried me here on their own volition. the sun parks its rays onto me but that current still remains as another murmur tickles my ear drum.
