Every time I want scream to the world, to punch a wall, I hold it in.
I hold it in until my very core aches.
Until my heart breaks.
All of it hurts, everything under my skin.
Every time I think things will get better, it crumbles.
The ice inside my stomach burns colder.
It all falls into me, hiding under the blanket.
Until my whole being screams for release.
Shadow the Character - part 2Other Sonic continuitiesShadow the Character - part 22 days ago in Writing More Like This
I have decided to continue on the topic of my previous article and added a part 2. It's because I have realized, that there are (at least) two more official Sonic continuities in existence that have Shadow as a character in them. These continuities are completely off cannon to the games. However I feel the need to mention them, since these continuities may have supported the distorted image of Shadow the Hedgehog. In fact, Shadow's reception has probably suffered Mainly because of his appearances in those two continuities.
While I am rather proud of my first article, since I did my research well and I did play many Sonic games to know how Shadow appeared in them for sure, with this article I am not entirely sure if I can keep the quality of my work. I personally do not know the other continuities as much, so my experience with them is marginal. I may be even wrong when evaluating Shadow's behavior in comics and anime, so feel free to criticize and correct my mi
This is the End(ing), My Only FriendSometimes, we reach the end of a book and remain in something of a daze for a while, just sitting and thinking over everything that happened in the closing pages. Other times, we think, "What? How could it end like that? There are not enough middle fingers in the world for me to flip at the author."This is the End(ing), My Only Friend11 hours ago in Writing More Like This
No doubt we've all heard warnings against deus ex machina, otherwise known as "the author saves the day." This is likely the most infamous of unsatisfying endings, but to my thinking, it's only one form of a larger principle. In short, unsatisfying endings go against the themes and mood that the story has presented up to that point. In these endings, characters take actions so contradictory to their previous behavior that they seem like different people. Plot developments appear from nowhere with no hint in the rest of the story that such an event was likely to happen.
This applies to any story and any ending. If the story until that point is somber and grim, the reader will expect, at best

Thanks to :iconrogerregorroger: I found this:
But few references to opinions of the people who realize how bad direction is SEGA taking with Sonic are still troubling me. Especially when they talk about Shadow. Even if Roger is talking about Shadow. Hey, when I disagree with him, he changes to his derp mode and says: "replace everything I say about Shadow with - he is awesome, flawless..." just simply resigning on the discussion. Normally, he is more enlightened. I wonder why is Shadow so universally misunderstood or hated. He is hated or at least not liked by many people who are normally open minded about story in the Sonic games, even (and especially) those who think that the story should turn to be more serious again. Even those people will say that they never want to see him again. My personal theory is that people hate to think. When certain ch
