Can You Keep A Secret, created in Daz Studios 3 Advanced, post work in PS CS3 Extended. This piece is lightly inspired by some recent events in my life. Sometimes when people ask you if you can keep a secret you really don't know how big of a burden that secret may be until after you've said yes.
A couple weeks ago, my grandfather had asked me, "Can you keep a secret?", well of course my answer was "Yes." because if anything I have always been good at keeping things to myself. Well, he then proceeded to tell me that he went to the doctor and he has cancer. They found spots on his lungs, a large mass in his colon and in/on? his liver. Now, for someone that has always been a Grandpa's girl, this is very upsetting news, and quite a large burden to be put upon someone's shoulders and have no one to be able to talk to about it, because it is a secret. Well, thankfully, after about a week he finally gave me permission to tell my mother and not have to keep it a secret from anyone anymore. And for this I am thankful, because that is quite a large burden of grief and pain and many other feelings that came with it that I was unable to share with anyone else. So this is my own way of processing through it, and maybe someone reading this might think about the next time they ask someone if they can keep a secret, just how much they are asking of that person.
It is amazing how strong we people can be sometimes. I know part of it couldn't have just been my own strength, because I somehow managed to finish talking to him about it that night without breaking down into tears until after he could no longer see me. And I know that strength couldn't have just come from myself. I know that when you believe all things are possible. So I am going to believe that my grandpa will get better. I love you Pa Pa, this one is for you.
