Artist's StatementWHY
This artwork I've done a few days ago to be ready for Tips From The Top Floor's 200th episode. Following the tradition of the previous special edition mug I did. WHAT Following the idea of the previous one, I wanted to reinforce the concepts of worldwide community and diversity, which I think are a pretty good reflection of what Chris has achieved with his friendly podcast. So I had to decide on a few representative and cliché-ish little fellows to draw. Looking at references from Google Image Search and inventing a bit, I ended up with an african (has to be one), a southamerican (that's where I'm from!), a german (that's where tfttf is from!), a spanish (for the latin part of europe), a middle eastern, a korean (for the east), and obviously a cowboy (that's where most of the listeners are from (so far). HOW I first made some pencil sketches, then inked them on a new sheet of paper, scanned, and painted in Photoshop with the Wacom tablet. |
