"Blue Hydrangea -- Will You Remember Me?" -- pen-on-paper line art colored in Corel Painter
This is my part of an art trade with :iconneko-no-aruki:. Hope you like it. ^^ Let me know if you'd like a high resolution file sent to you. When I did the line art for "Hydrangea", I had two distinctly different color schemes come to my mind. One was this misty soft blue version. Hydrangeas often have multiple shades and hues going on within a single plant and a single cluster. They may change colors depending on soil condition, weather, age, etc. So naturally, "blue" can be found in many subtle hues and the flowers in this image are no exception. My grandfather's gorgeous garden had a large blue hydrangea plant which produced huge clusters of blooms every year. The color was always an icy sky blue with not a hint of pink, but in the humid summer, the blooms always looked so refreshing and cool. The other color scheme I had in mind is a completely different mood all together. I'm not even talking about blue vs. pink. I am thinking about doing an "late autumn/winter" view of the plant where the leaves have changed colors and the petals are dried out to have only the lacy veins. ©Aruarian Dancer |
