This is for my favorite cousin. The first of a few paintings I'm doing for my family.I wanted to do some art that did Elvis justice. However, the more I tried to make it look like Elvis, the less it looked like Elvis.

Eventually I was sort of like "I'll try to convey an emotion instead of trying to translate what I see in old photos."

I attempted to convey the emotions I feel when thinking about Elvis and his music through his pose, the application of brush strokes and the use of color.
