While Coulnia does not mean anything, as far as I know, Coulnia is a place in my imagination, in my fantasy world. Just a short distance west of the castle is this coastline in Coulnia, a land of wind and sand dunes. The philosophers of the land come here to rest their minds and enjoy the serenity the coastline has to offer them.

It's interesting to note how the ocean's horizon and the clouds are parallel to the image, and the dune, and the branches are at a slight angle. I off-centered the point where the ocean's horizon meets the sand dune for compositional reasons.

The major changes or enhancement made to this photo are relatively evident. A increase in saturation and the blue hue, a common change for photo's reflecting scenes interpreting actual locations in my fantasy world. Additionally, about 5 persons were removed from along the shoreline and birds removed from the sky because I found them to be distracting.

The photo was taken on the island of Sylt, near the town of Westerland. Sylt is an island in northern Germany right by Denmark in the North Sea. The island is covered with sand dunes, which make up more or less most of the island. To my understanding, the branches in the sand act to hold the sand in place.

I hope that I can share a piece of the world's sight's and my own fantasy world with you with this piece.
