Artist's Statement

This is a photograph of the interior of an installation I created for Uni. It's currently on display at Glasgow's Center for Contemporary Arts.

The following is a small piece written describing the project in it's entirity, though the photograph only shows the interior of a single box.

Memories of a Poisoned Mind
MDF, Iron, Plaster, Paint.

This piece follows the linier storyline of a person, a religious authoritative figure, falling victim to the sickening confessions of his flock. The themes in this piece are change, transition, the fragile nature of human morality.
The exterior of the boxes represent the grim nature of inner conflict. They are based on medieval asylum head restraints. The interior of the boxes represent a stage in the transition of the mind from light to dark, good to evil. It is advised that this piece should be viewed from left to right to fully appreciate the transition.
