4/24/09 - Multnomah Falls, Oregon

Multnomah Falls is "the grandaddy" of the 77 waterfalls on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge. At 620 feet, only three falls in the nation are higher, but none are more beautiful. The falls drops in two major steps, split into an upper falls of 542 feet and a lower falls of 69 feet, with a gradual 9 foot drop in elevation between the two, so the total height of the waterfall is given as 620 feet. It is the tallest waterfall in Oregon.

Multnomah Falls is heavily phoyographed. I tend to stay away from photographing certain landmarks that have been overdone, however, this was just too incredible not to attempt. Hopefully, I have given it a little bit of a different take in my shots. This is arguably one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen in my life.
