Another photo from long ago when our dog, a Saluki and the neighbors golden retriever decided to get together, this was the result! 7 puppies from almost white to a dark golden color. It was so hard to *let them go* when they were old enough. Our daughter begged her Dad for one of the puppies, naturally he said yes, over my no!!! Anyway, she picked *Stockings* and he lived to be an amazing 20 years old. The kids took him to 4H obedience, what a hoot....and when the kids left the proverbial nest, Stockings stayed with my husband and I. When we divorced, my daughter and her fiancé took him. They took him hunting ( he wore an orange vest), fishing ( he went with them in the boat), camping, just everywhere. My son in law said Stockings was the best dog he ever had. And he and my daughter were the ones who had to put Stockings to sleep, when it was his time. Well sorry for the book, just remembering.
