The original reason for the recent spate of portrait experiments (the DA Portrait series) is for a project I've been jonesing to do for over a year - the VA Portrait series. For almost 4 years, I worked at VA Linux Systems (originally VA Research and now VA Software). IN what I have to say was the densest aggregation of intellect and eccentric personalities ever in one building, VA was a constant source of learning and in many cases -- just damn fun. I wanted to make a series of the faces that made VA what it was (for me).
