this fella is a child of my imagination. one day it sorta popped into my head and i had to draw him.

while drawing i noticed a certain similarities to the image of a jinn (particularity marid type) so i went for it and placed him on a fiery dune to further strengthen the mood i feel a drawing of a jinn should have.

Types of djinn include the ghul (“night shade”, which can change shape), the sila (which cannot change shape), the ifrit (pronounced [iˈfɾɪt]), and marid (pronounced [mʌˈɾɪd]). According to the information in The Arabian Nights, marid seem to be the strongest form of djinn, followed by ifrit, and then the rest of the djinn forms.
