Artist's Statement
this fella is a child of my imagination. one day it sorta popped into my head and i had to draw him.
while drawing i noticed a certain similarities to the image of a jinn (particularity marid type) so i went for it and placed him on a fiery dune to further strengthen the mood i feel a drawing of a jinn should have. please tell me what u think of it! :D comments, constructive critics and :+fav:s welcome as always INFO: In Islam and pre-Islamic Arabian folklore, a genie (also jinn, djinn, from Arabic جني jinnī) is a supernatural creature made from 'smokeless fire' which possesses free will. Types of djinn include the ghul (night shade, which can change shape), the sila (which cannot change shape), the ifrit (pronounced [iˈfɾɪt]), and marid (pronounced [mʌˈɾɪd]). According to the information in The Arabian Nights, marid seem to be the strongest form of djinn, followed by ifrit, and then the rest of the djinn forms. |
