Halloween Tree

Late one night by the light of the moon
a little old witch on a little old broom.
She flew right over an old oak tree
and dropped down a seed where no one could see.
Months went by and a vine did twine
and twist all around, for the tree it did bind.
At the first frost when the leaves did fall
pumpkins popped out to be seen by all.
And on the first chime of Midnight's bell
of Halloween night, there came a spell.
A pumpkin smiled, and lit with glee,
a Jack-o'-lantern neath the Halloween tree.
He burned the night long for all to see
as an old owl hooted in the Halloween tree.
And somewhere, up, flying high in the sky
an old witch cackled "Happy Halloween Night!"
