Artist's Statement
Hey there!
Alright, for day # 18 of Villain Month, I give you an original character of mine, Yma the Red Collar. Yma is the main villain of my currently-nameless project involving the inhabitants of the supernatural world. You can learn more about that project (and some of the other characters involved) at these links: [link] [link] Acting as more of a terrorist than a simple villain, Yma (pronounced "ee-muh") is a super-psychic, meaning she has mastered at least 5 of the known psychic abilities. Perhaps one of my oldest characters, Yma is in her late 30s. She's temperamental, but is able to rationally think about her plans before she carries them out. For reasons she cannot explain, she turns a little soft every time Perrin is around (no, I'm not setting up some twisted romance or anything). There's not a whole lot I can say about this character aside from that. Her details and motives haven't really been ironed out just yet, but you'll know more about that stuff later (when I do). I can say that I'm glad Villain Month prompted me to draw her. This is exactly what I want her to look like, and the other pictures of her have been nothing but failures, so consider this the current definitive (even though you've only ever seen one concept of her - and that was more for the outfit). I hope you like her, and I'll see you tomorrow with another nefarious villain! Adobe Photoshop CS, about 20 minutes total. Yma is (c) me, Andrew Green, and you are <b>not</b> welcome to use this image in any way, shape, or form. Please don't steal other peoples' artwork, including mine, or else you can officially declare yourself a stupid "n00b" who deserves to be "pwned." |
