This painting was done in watercolors and modified in Photoshop. It is the third in my Zodiac series, this one is for Cancer. I was really tempted to call it the Cranken in reference to the Cracken of Roman myth... but then decided only I probably thought that would be humorous, so I settled on the more romantic name.

The trend is going to be mermaids for the water signs. I'm planning to do a male and a female of each sign, and quite possibly using the alternate symbols for each sign, for instance Scorpio's negative qualities are supposed to be the scorpion and positive qualities are the eagle... or so I've been told... in any case I see some research in my future.
