An assignment for Applied Drawing Technique class - illustrate a childrens book/fairytale. I chose the russian folk story of The firebird, cos its not that well known, but I read it as a kid, and have been meaning to do some illustrations for it for a while now.
Anyway, we had to do it in watercolour, and pen and ink - which I was a bit apprehensive about cos I havnt touched watercolours in a long time and I know that they can go horribly wrong, but I\'m pretty pleased with this.
So its 81/2 by 11 inches. About 4 hours of work I think.
