It was a good thing you didn't rush to finish it, it's a fantastic portrait.  Love the colours that make up the skin, it really looks kind of warm and glowing and skin-like, and the colours in the hair make it look really rich.  Those feathers are a really nice contrast.  Good luck with the comic project!
