Kids don't try this at home!
With this deviation I wanted to break the tradition of an ice cube creating a splash by adding a little more pizzazz. It's not that I don't like those types of shots-I think they are amazing- but I wanted to add my own spin on things. I will add a print for the second frame of the animated gif later this week. Please note that this is very dangerous and can easily get out of control if not properly executed. Setup -One Strobe light with umbrella to left placed high at a 45 degree angle. -One glass sitting on a piece of 18" black plexiglass. -One piece of black foam core board to the rear of the glass, held in place with an boom arm. PSCS2 Watermark | Curves | Border | Sharpen | Crop IRCS2 Animated Gif @ 2secs a piece. Tools 30D | 24-105mmL IS Lens | Tripod | One Glass | Gas and Oil Mixture | Wired Remote | B1600 Strobe light w/ umbrella | One ice cube | One Fire Extinguisher Edit: I added a third image to the gif download. Please note that the quality of the gif images are very poor and there is a slight difference in exposure, due to the recycle time needed on a strobe light. Also, to those who attempt to venture this-I highly advise against it- ice, oil and fire do not like each other, the ice will POP! at some point which may cause the fire to spray ever where! You have be warned :) |
