I did this portrait as a relatively fast practice piece similar (but unrelated) to my Green Shadow painting. If only I could finish everything I do as quickly as this one, then I wouldn't get tired of them and enjoy them all the way through. Well, that's why I'm practicing! I felt like it had been a while since I'd really done many males--especially the somewhat less feminine kind (I bet most people would still find this one feminine, though *sigh*); hence the choice of subject.
