The flowers represent the Twelve Apostles.
The staff represents the Old Man's staff of life.
The flowing hair represents the Old Man's soul leaving his host body.

Although I grew up in a strict Catholic household, I am no longer active in the church. But I do believe that its religious imagery will forever be itched into my soul. I truly love religious and spiritual art (which good psychedelic art surely is) above all others.
