Christiane! This is magnificent. It is an elegant and dynamic image that is immediately recognizable as from our world . . . and then not. It has a mystical feel and a cyberpunk attitude - all cool and distancing, yet promising some kind of reveal. I often don't think about photos showing a frozen sliver of time. I usually see the past and probably future of an image. Not so here - all is in suspension. This adds a tension not often captured.

The image as a whole, works. It resonates on the emotional and visual level, and gives a kind of kinesthetic kick as it glows in it's own cup of darkness. The composition is damned challenging and congratulations for pushing the envelope with that huge block of black on the left. I've wrestled with sliding things around, shifting proportions, etc. and must say I think you nailed a very difficult composition.

The black comes across as an element in its own right rather than the 'absence' of one. The piece is so rigorously balanced, my eye focuses on the one anomaly - that cube. My mind divides the image into three equally weighted vertical columns, and somehow, you've convinced me the blackness isn't empty but rather full of real potential. The contrast between the three-dimensional form of the cube versus the flat, two-dimensional forms of the signage and building add paradox. They war with each other on an almost unconscious level. I am mentally stimulated as my eye wonders and wanders though shifting dimensions. This is sophisticated content, well handled. HATS OFF. BRILLIANT.
