Description

I shot this Red Velvet Mite at my house in Bacoli, but the ones at my mother in law's farm in Gaeta are tiny in comparison.

Tech Specs: Canon 70D (F11, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (~4x) + a diffused MT-24EX. This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held.

Wow! Looks like they really are velvet mites. Looks like they're made of red velvet. I've got those near my house. I've only ever seen them in shady mossy places. I found three at once, and the smaller ones were following the bigger one. It was kinda cute. :)
