Taking Flight

I spent about a half an hour, sitting in the window at my sister's house, watching this guy just sitting there, taking some photos of him hanging out... then he saw something. So I stayed for another hour watching him hunt... and taking some photos. This is my most favorite shot! It could have been a little bit better, but I don't have much experience with wildlife.

At one point he flew down and landed on the bird feeder hook right outside the window and stared me straight in the eyes. I wanted SO badly to take a photo of him staring at me, but I couldn't move. Like, at all. He stared at me for about three seconds and then flew off.
